Developing the axo into a lightrail stop

Decided on developing this particular axonometric into sketchup
Architecture mimics natural elements and cultural values +  The space between is more important

From these blocks and the concepts, I decided on developing a canopy like structure similar to much of Vo Trong Nghia's architecture. However I also intended on utilising negative spaces and monolithic blocks that can be seen in Carlo Scarpa's work.

I started on an initial sketch based on these concepts:

From this idea I then went into sketchup and stretched out the shape and created the start of a monolithic canopy structure to fit the general dimensions of a light rail stop.

From the subdivision and curved drawing I originally intended of creating a curved roof like structure for the stops. Furthermore I developed the stop onto both sides of the road and added a bridge in between.

Here I tested out other variations of a more simplistic roofing style.

The roof I eventually decided on has dual angled layers with a structure in between. The Structure is has curved organic cutouts which fulfills the original intent of a curved roof that mimics natural elements. The flat angled surfaces also allowed space to place solar panels.

Redrew and cleaned up the axonomonetrics.
The space between is more important

Architecture mimics natural elements and cultural values

Complexity meets simplicity

Dissolve the distinction between the interior and exterior

Integration of the old and new creates harmony
Monolithic architecture becomes refined in the detail
